DSL » Connection Issues

ID #1044

I have no internet

If this is a brand new account please make sure to go through the following steps.

1. Make sure your DSL modem is connected directly to the jack on the wall or the Dmark location that bell installed your dry loop.

2. When you power up your modem check to see if the DSL light is flashing or solid. If its flashing then it has not achieved sync and therefore you should check the cables once again to make sure the modem is connected to the line where DSL is installed. If you can't seem to find this contact dsl technical support.

3. If DSL light goes solid and the PPP light doesn't come on this could simply be a username / password issue. Login to the unit and verify that the correct username/ password was placed in the Connection section of the DSL modem.

4. If the password is correct then simply try the following.

Login to the login / pass section of the DSL modem and put in test@test as the username and test as the password. Then see if the PPP Light comes on. If it does then we know that from your home to the the Bell Central Office it is working. You can also check the WAN status and you should have an ip with 10.XX.XX.XX. Once you get this e-mail technical support. Tell them you tried test@test as the user and it worked.. however your own user does not. Then change the username and password back to the correct one and wait for technical support to correct the issue.
